Tagged Safe provides in-service inspection and testing of electrical equipment, commonly known as PAT testing, and related electrical safety testing primarily across CT and ME postcode areas and selected TN postcodes.
Tagged Safe provides visual inspection and appropriate electrical safety testing of portable and movable electrical equipment. Testing may include, where applicable:
Electrical equipment testing does not include inspection of the fixed electrical installation or an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR). Repairs are not included unless separately agreed.
A PASS result confirms that the item met the applicable inspection/testing requirements at the time it was tested. It is not a guarantee that the item will remain safe indefinitely.
Submitting a quote request through the Tagged Safe website does not create a booking or contract. The information supplied by the customer is used to prepare an estimate or quotation.
Customers should provide information that is accurate to the best of their knowledge, including estimated test quantities, equipment types, access requirements and known additional site costs. If information supplied with the enquiry is incomplete or substantially different from the actual job, the quotation may need to be changed.
Unless otherwise stated, quotations are valid for 14 days from the date of issue.
A quotation is based on the information available when it is prepared. The final charge may change where:
Where practical, additional costs will be discussed with the customer before they are incurred. Once a quotation has been accepted within its validity period, the quoted rates will be honoured for the agreed appointment unless the scope of work changes.
Each separately testable component is normally counted as an individual test. For example:
Final charges are based on the number and type of tests actually completed.
Standard Rate: £65 including the first 30 standard tests.
Charity & Community Rate: £50 including the first 40 standard tests.
Additional standard and specialist tests are charged at the rates shown on the current Tagged Safe quotation or published pricing page. The Charity & Community Rate is available to qualifying registered charities, recognised Scout/Guide organisations and genuine not-for-profit community organisations. Eligibility may need to be verified before the reduced rate is confirmed.
Specialist testing and other additional costs remain chargeable even where the Charity & Community Rate applies.
A contract is formed when the customer accepts a Tagged Safe quotation and Tagged Safe confirms the booking or appointment. Simply requesting or receiving a quotation does not reserve an appointment.
Booking confirmations will normally include the agreed date, approximate arrival time or time window, testing site and relevant quotation/job reference.
This section applies where the customer is legally classed as a consumer and the contract has been agreed at a distance, for example by website, telephone or email.
Where applicable, consumers have a statutory 14-day cancellation period beginning after the service contract is entered into. A consumer may cancel during this period without giving a reason.
If a consumer asks Tagged Safe to carry out the service during the 14-day cancellation period, Tagged Safe will request confirmation that the customer wants the service to begin during that period. If work has already started and the consumer then cancels, the consumer may be required to pay a reasonable amount for the service already supplied.
Where the service has been fully performed during the cancellation period following the consumer's express request and acknowledgement, the statutory cancellation right may end once the service has been completed.
Consumers may cancel by contacting Tagged Safe by telephone or email. A model cancellation form is provided at the end of these Terms, although customers do not have to use it. Nothing in these Terms removes or reduces any statutory consumer rights.
The following normal cancellation arrangements apply once a booking has been confirmed, subject to any statutory consumer cancellation rights described above.
Where access or site delays prevent work starting for more than approximately one hour, Tagged Safe may treat the appointment as a failed visit and arrange a new booking. Cancellation or failed-visit charges will only be applied where reasonable in the circumstances.
The customer is responsible for providing reasonable access to the equipment and testing areas. The customer should ensure, where applicable, that:
Large, heavy or awkward equipment must be made safely accessible by the customer or moved with suitable assistance or mechanical aids. Tagged Safe is not required to move equipment where doing so would create an unreasonable manual-handling or safety risk.
Depending on the type of equipment, its design, condition and the circumstances at the site, an item may receive a visual inspection only where electrical testing is not appropriate, necessary or cannot be safely carried out.
Tagged Safe may also be unable to fully test equipment where:
Where appropriate, an item may be recorded as visual inspection only, unavailable, inaccessible or not tested, so the customer can clearly see what work was and was not completed.
The customer will only be charged for work actually completed, together with any applicable minimum visit, failed-visit or previously agreed additional charges.
The standard visit includes normal travel within the Tagged Safe service area. Additional costs may apply for paid parking, tolls or bridge charges, congestion or clean-air charges, site access fees, permit charges, compulsory site induction or training, ferry or specialist transport, accommodation, or other unavoidable job-specific costs.
Known costs will normally be included in the quotation. Variable or unexpected costs will be discussed with the customer before being charged wherever reasonably possible.
Tagged Safe will carry out services with reasonable care and skill. Testing methods will be selected according to the equipment and circumstances. Tagged Safe may refuse to test, stop work or leave a site where conditions are unsafe or where suitable controls cannot be put in place.
Any item that fails inspection or testing will be clearly recorded. Where appropriate, the customer or site representative will be advised that failed equipment should remain out of normal use until it has been appropriately repaired, replaced or otherwise made safe.
Tagged Safe does not carry out repairs as part of the standard electrical equipment testing service.
A later retest can be arranged where required. Retesting following repair or replacement is not automatically included in the original testing charge unless specifically stated in the quotation. Any retest charge will be confirmed before the additional work is carried out.
Unless different terms have been agreed in writing, payment is due in accordance with the invoice issued for the completed work. Bank transfer is the preferred payment method. Cash may be accepted where agreed. Business-account or extended payment terms only apply where specifically agreed.
Digital test records, asset registers, certificates and receipts may be issued once the applicable payment terms have been satisfied. Any important safety information relating to failed equipment will be communicated regardless of payment status.
Tagged Safe may occasionally need to change an appointment because of illness, vehicle or equipment problems, severe weather, unsafe conditions or other circumstances outside reasonable control. Where this happens, Tagged Safe will contact the customer as soon as reasonably possible and offer another suitable appointment. The customer will not be charged a cancellation fee where Tagged Safe cancels or rearranges the appointment.
Testing records reflect the equipment that was available and tested during the visit. The customer should check supplied records and notify Tagged Safe as soon as reasonably possible if they believe information is incorrect.
An Electrical Equipment Inspection & Testing Certificate confirms that inspection/testing took place and should be read alongside the detailed asset/test record. The certificate does not state that every electrical item owned or operated by the customer has been tested unless that was specifically the agreed scope of work.
Tagged Safe aims to resolve problems quickly and fairly. If a customer believes there is a problem with the service or documentation, contact 07434 177231 or hello@taggedsafe.co.uk. Tagged Safe should be given a reasonable opportunity to investigate and, where appropriate, correct the issue.
Nothing in this section affects a consumer's statutory rights, including the right for services to be carried out with reasonable care and skill.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Tagged Safe is not responsible for faults, damage or unsafe conditions that existed before testing or which arise after testing unless they are caused by Tagged Safe's negligence. Customers are responsible for protecting data and safely shutting down equipment before it is disconnected or tested.
For business customers, Tagged Safe will not be responsible for indirect or consequential business losses, loss of profit or loss arising from equipment downtime unless liability cannot legally be excluded.
Personal information supplied to Tagged Safe will be handled in accordance with the Tagged Safe Privacy Notice. Information may be used for legitimate purposes connected with enquiries, quotations, bookings, testing records, invoices, payments, legal/accounting requirements and customer communications.
Tagged Safe may update these Terms from time to time. The Terms applying to a particular booking will normally be the version provided or referenced when that booking was confirmed.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Nothing in this section removes any legal rights a consumer may have regarding where a dispute can be brought.
Complete and send this form only if you wish to cancel a contract and statutory cancellation rights apply. You do not have to use this form; a clear cancellation request by email, telephone or another agreed method is sufficient.
